Kathy brings a fresh approach to personal expression in the wide variety of classes she teaches.

Sample class descriptions:

Waterfall Necklace

Braided seed beads and varied length fringe make this collar style necklace a conversation piece. Learn techniques using seed beads that yield stunning results.

Beaded Pendants

Use stone cabochons, wire and beadwork to form pendants that you can attach to chains or beaded necklaces. Two pendant styles will be demonstrated.

The Feng Shui Necklace

Feng shui is the practice of balance and harmony with your environment. Kathy has developed a necklace that, when worn, will serve as a reminder of balance in your everyday life.

Trash to Treasures: The Artful Pin

Make extraordinary accessories while recycling ordinary objects. Learn to create pins with personality through techniques of collage and assemblage.

Unique Tile and Stone Work

Kathy will introduce you to "smalti" and vitreous glass tiles plus an overview of pebble mosaics. A decorative box is the project using glass tiles, while a garden steppingstone will be the pebble mosaic project.

The Bracelet — 3 Variations

Make a simple one-strand bracelet with a button closure. Then graduate to a multi-strand bracelet and a charm bracelet. Learn the appropriate tools and techniques that make beadwork go faster and yield lasting results.

Lampshades Rediscovered

Discover Kathy's one-of-a-kind lamps and how she makes a plain Jane shade come to life. Learn to embellish, bead and redefine your lampshades. See how shells, raffia, ribbon and a few well paced beads can bring new life to a shade.

The Pottery Shard Necklace

Learn how to construct a necklace from shards of broken pottery, interspersed with porcelain beads — an ingenious method of recycling broken favorites from your china closet. Learn how to drill pottery and smooth shard edges, adapting each broken piece into a unique necklace element.
